2023 Parent-Friendly Residency Partners

Abrons Arts Center

For the fifth year in a row, Abrons Arts Center, a program of Henry Street Settlement in New York City, will offer their AIRspace for Parent Artists, a five-week summer residency with an artist stipend and free summer arts camp for the resident’s child.

Butterfly Effect Theatre of Colorado (BETC)
Boulder, CO
Previously the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, BETC will support one parent playwright with a week-long residency to work with a director, dramaturg, and cast in order to develop their script. The playwright will benefit from two public readings, as well as prize money, a child care stipend, travel, lodging, and a per diem.
Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX)
Brooklyn, NY
BAX‘s Parent-Artist Space Grant, now starting its eleventh year, offers fifty hours of dedicated studio space and professional support for four artists, as well as a child care stipend and access to BAX’s extensive youth education programs for residents’ children.

Granville, NY
The Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency by Collar Works will support five parent artists with a flexible stipend and a robust childcare program during their nine-day, family-friendly residency in upstate New York.

Interlude Artist Residency

Seattle Escribe
Seattle, WA

Rockland is an artist residency founded and run by artist parents. Its new program, Rockland Woods: Artists with Children, will be a three-week residency which includes a kids’ summer camp.
